Big Easy Express

There's no shortage of references to trains in popular music. Bus travel* just isn't as inspiring for some reason. Emmett Malloy plays on our love affair with the train by chronicling the East-bound journey of 3 bands in Big Easy Express

Old Crow Medicine Show, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes, and Mumford & Sons are profiled riding the rails from Oakland to New Orleans. The bands stop along the way for shows and then pile back in the train bound for the next stop. Plenty of impromptu performances and revelry between the somewhat oddly matched bands. If you're a fan of any of them, it's a can't miss.

*Notable exceptions: Magic Bus, Bus Stop
